When was the last time you asked for help?
I know it can be really challenging to do this.
You think about how busy everyone is.
You worry about inconveniencing others.
You wonder if you’re being a burden.
You question if you really need the help in the first place.
Then you finally decide that it’s just easier to do it yourself.
Except that sometimes it isn’t.
Sometimes, you do actually need the help.
And asking for help can have surprising benefits.
A client articulated this so beautifully in a coaching session last week, and I wanted you to have her perspective.
“I gave myself the opportunity (by asking for help) to think through and articulate exactly what I needed. The ask created so much clarity for me, and I suddenly saw solutions, where before, I only saw more and more unsolvable problems.”
By trying to do everything herself alone, this client became exhausted, discouraged, and overwhelmed.
She was trying to do it all and do her very best and was bone tired.
Her ability to problem-solve, come up with new ideas at work, and stay positive around her family was very, very challenging.
Before she even received the specific help she asked for, she began to feel better.
Less overwhelmed and more optimistic.
Just asking for help allowed her to help herself in a way she could not previously.
It cleared her mind and got her reconnected to her needs.
It helped her remember routines and strategies that had made her very effective and efficient in the past.
It created focus and decisiveness so she could stop wasting so much time second-guessing herself.
Incredible, what a simple ask can produce.
What could your life be like this week if you asked for help?
It might change everything.
With immense appreciation & gratitude. Always.
P.S. If you know that I’m the person you want to ask for help, please go here to book a connection call. I’d be honored to help.
